This can happen when it is made from unwanted sources, such as dead plant material, decaying wood, ground up pallets, toxins, hazardous materials, and even nails. Which means it can also contain unwanted chemicals and diseased plant material. Definitely not what you want in your yard, especially if you have children or pets.
How to plan for the delivery of your mulch
Prepare the location for the delivery site. Clear any obstacles and debris from the location where you want your mulch delivered. You may want to spread out a tarp on the location. Make sure there is enough room for the delivery truck to maneuver to drop off the mulch.
You may want to schedule the mulch delivery when you are home, to ensure completeness of delivery and ease of access. If you aren’t going to be home, you may want to use cones, chalk outlines, or other indicators, to the driver knows the exact location of where you want the mulch to be dumped
