Maintaining a beautiful landscape in this heat can be exhausting. Who wants to spend their weekend toiling away working in the yard. Here are some easy changes to cut down on all that work and still have an attractive landscape. They are also environmentally friendly!

Hardscaping

You can easily save a lot of time and energy by covering a section of your lawn with gravel, stones, or crushed rock. Smaller rocks are very budget friendly and comes in a variety of colors and textures. It is great for creating outdoor living space with a patio, seating area, or fire pit.

Mulch

Mulch retains moisture and prevents weeds from growing. Organic mulch also adds vital nutrients to the soil as it decomposes. For the best results, replenish your mulch at least once a year.

Pebbles and Stones

For a more permanent solution, add pebbles or stones to your garden beads and around shrubs and trees. Rock gardens are very popular, with a combination of larger rocks and smaller stones. They can also add interest, creating walkways and “river” of pebbles.
